Mechanical Engineering Student at UMass, Amherst

I’m currently enrolled as a senior in the College of Engineering at UMass, Amherst. I’m currently majoring in mechanical engineering with an associates degree in mechanical engineering technology. I’m interested in design, manufacturing, mechanical, and aerospace engineering.

I believe that the skills I have attained from the dynamic environment and competitive university life define me and I’m looking forward to share my skills and knowledge in any opportunity that I receive.

My Interdisciplinary Article

The Process of How to Write an Interdisciplinary Article

For this technical writing course, we were tasked to write an interdisciplinary article on a topic we are interested in. The process was to create a summary/introduction which includes the name of the article in quotation marks and the last names of the authors in APA Styles. We also must describe the main ideas and use 1-2 quotations.

              We also must write a response and describe the significance of these ideas and illustrate what felt important. And for the final part, we must let the reader know what we think about the issue, connect a personal insight or experience to the material, and if we disagree with what is being said, we have to create a strong argument or position of the author into question.

My Post-Mortem Paper

The Process of How to Write a Post-Mortem

For this next exercise in technical writing, we will need to document a process, project, or task that failed at work, in an internship, at school, or in an activity that you’re involved in. We would then create a post-mortem about it where we will obtain skills like professional writing and professional development, metacognition, critical analysis, and a simulation of “real” peer revision on a word document.

 We will then assess ourselves using the grading matrix soon after we turn it in. We also have the option to turn in another draft for a better grade if we decide to put in the work.

Group Project Infographic Poster Process

I contributed by sharing my ideas and opinion of what topic we are interested in. I think I did some extra work for this group project since I was leading the layout of the design of the poster. The approach for this group project is strong since we shared our opinion and ideas which we narrowed down to our common interest which it was easier to do research and create a poster. We learned to narrow down our ideas, opinions, and common interests. See other people’s points of view on the topic. Learn how to delegate work equally and know which best to delegate the work with. It will save us a lot of time if we delegate the work to the people who know more about the topic at the same time, equally distributing work to the whole group.

Writing a Rhetorical Prospectus

A prospectus outlines the intended work’s strategy. A rhetorical prospectus requires you to consider your audience, your method of communication, and—most importantly—your purpose for writing in addition to what you want to communicate. These components are taken for granted in real-world debates, but in order to produce an effective essay for a class assignment, you typically need to set up a rhetorical scenario for yourself. Please type your responses to each of the questions below. Please make the portions in bold as shown below. You should have done at least half of the necessary research for the annotated bibliography in order to finish this prospectus, however, you might also have come up with some new research questions to pursue.
